Last month I had a call from Human Resources. It seems that a year ago, on my five year anniversary at this august institution, I was supposed to get a bump up in the amount of leave earned each month.
However, it was never changed in my file, so now I find myself with a year's worth of extra leave, on top of what I had already accumulated, with almost no way of using it all up this year — I already have as much as I can carry over at the end of the year, so short of taking every other week off, I'm gonna lose some of it come December 31st.
In an attempt to nibble away at it, I'm taking one or two half days off every week, Monday mornings, & Friday afternoons. And it's quite nice to have that extra time to myself. I have to admit that I'm pretty damn good company!
